Wait in the Lord

Copyright: QuestMeraki

How long Lord; how long?

Life was smooth, journey exciting,
until the pandemic came sweeping across
Lives are lost, sorrows saved
here and there

Wealth was power, pretense ruling
until the economy left depriving all
Jobs are lost; fears harsh
far and near

How long Lord, how long
before you relent sparing all
Minds are drained, waiting and worrying
now or never?

Patience we need, hope undeterred
granted by Almighty, love bestowed
Refresh lives, pardon trespasses
heart and soul

How long Lord, how long?

Anthea Washington

Indeed, if there is anything too difficult for us, it is waiting for something good to happen. We do not have the patience to wait in the Lord and allow him to work on our behalf. We get restless and impatient and instead of placing our trust in God, we start telling him what to do in our lives.

In the words of Charles Spurgeon, “Patience is a grace as difficult as it is necessary, and as hard to come by as it is precious when it is gained”.
Yes, patience as a virtue is difficult and lost, but the Scripture says, “Yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength”- Isa. 40:31. We read that Abraham patiently waited, and obtained the promise – Heb. 6:15

Hence, whatever might be happening in our lives, let us wait quietly in the Lord and trust him to lead us. Our Lord has been gracious to us the past ten months and will carry us through in the days to come.

Only trust in God and wait for his appointed time.

The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still     Ex. 14:14 Wait for the Lord, and he will deliver you Prov. 20:22
