Procrastination is dynamite in today’s fast paced world. We do not know what the next minute holds for us and this makes it all the more a dangerous game to procrastinate. Procrastination has become a part of our daily life that sometimes we are not even aware of delaying or postponing tasks. From administrators postponing policy decisions to children completing their home tasks, we procrastinate.

Generally, there are two kinds of people – people who procrastinate and people who desire to procrastinate. Indeed, we all wish at different points in life, that we could do certain things later or not do it at all. People procrastinate for variety of reasons. It could be fear, anxiety, low self-confidence, lack of knowledge, desire for perfection, lack of support or lack of resources. True, we may all agree that procrastination leads to emotional and psychological blocks and yet we do not think twice about procrastinating. Without doubt, procrastination leads to fatigue, stress, low self-esteem and guilt.

At work, we, our colleagues, or superiors may give various reasons for procrastinating tasks. For example, we pay plead ignorance, work load, lack of team work, lack of resources, rules and regulations, health issues, etc for not completing tasks assigned to us.
