plammm

My parents gifted me a simple, hard bound 'The New International Version’ Bible in the year 1983. This was the first time that I got to have my very own bible and since then I developed the habit of reading the bible twice a day - morning and bedtime, almost every single day! Now in 2017, I hold the same bible in my hands, old and used, twice bound for holding the loose pages together, and yet, everyday it brings me new insights and perspectives on God's words. I have read the Bible several times from first page to last (I follow the “Bible in a Year”) and have always believed that reading, understanding and obeying God's words, bring so much blessings in our life.

I have overcome fear, crossed rough paths and been healed several times by reading, quoting in my prayers and trusting God's words. I keep close to my heart numerous verses from the Bible which dawned on me through regular reading, sermons and devotions.

Reading Bible regularly has given me immense hope; power to pass through any hurdles and faith that stands strong most times. (Yes, there are days when I feel low and falter in my faith)

God's words have proved to be most powerful at different points in my life. I want to post here some verses that have been my life lines and my favorites.

"Shout and be glad, O Daughter of Zion. For I am coming, and I will live among you," declares the Lord. Zechariah 2:10

'I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security' Jeremiah 33:6

"The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged" Deuteronomy 31:8

For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Isaiah 41:13

...'I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,' declares the Lord. Jeremiah 30:17

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. I Peter 5:7

I will grant peace in the land, and you will lie down and no one will make you afraid. Leviticus 26:6

He will love you and bless you and increase your numbers. He will bless the fruit of your womb, the crops of your land...Deuteronomy 7:13

Be strong and courageous, Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9

I can do everything through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13

Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear. Isaiah 65:24

'And I myself will be a wall of fire around it', declares the Lord, 'and I will be its glory within'. Zechariah 2:5

He will instruct him in the way chosen for him. Psalm 25:12

Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then will I be confident. Psalm 27:3

These are just a few of my favourites.

I want to urge my readers to develop the habit of reading bible every day and also motivate our children to spend time reading and understanding God's words. Spending just a few minutes every day in God's presence will protect us from all evil and bring us showers of blessings.

God's mighty words and His wonderful deeds will be shared in the upcoming posts.

Be God’s and Be Good!
